Mayan Fire Cayenne Hot Pepper Sauce

Sauce Review (Posted on 01-22-2019)

There's no helping going through the aisle of hot sauces, wondering what new brand(s) look to break in to the market. In other words, the more humble a brand of sauce is, the likely it will be purchased, tasted and featured here at SPICESOTROS. There, the cat's out of the bag.

The label on this sauce caught my eyes—Mayan Fire? This sauce probably wouldn't have saved the thousands of gullible humans who literally—yeah, literally—thought the world was coming to an end on December 21, 2012. Good, more air and more land for me; That's how I see it, and, oh, more of this hot sauce for me, too. I also like how there's a level meter on the front label indicating how spicy this sauce is. Overall, the label is well designed with a unique usage of colors, especially the gold. (When it comes to reviewing both food and spices, it's a rare treat to compliment on a product's label/design. If mentioned, that means it's a job well done!)

Tasting this sauce didn't seem intimidating at all. Being that this is pepper sauce, it's a spicy kick adding flavor and depth to your dish. I love the spicy kick this sauce brings as it isn't too strong. Depending on your taste buds, this may be tangy but not as much. The level of heat shouldn't be of concern, unless you're one of those who has never eaten anything spicy in your lives. Spicy/Hot condiments and sauces do have health benefits that can fend off sicknesses that may otherwise be life threatening (then again, you eat what you want, you do what you want). Whether you're a hot sauce junky, or a casual fan, the spiciness shouldn't throw you off, as it isn't sweat-inducing heat. While it does add heat, it seems to focus more on the extra bite and taste you get with your dish.

No question this is a humble brand, with a neat Mayan logo design, that deserves a chance to be in your pantry. Even as a hot sauce fan, there are times when I want to enjoy my food without heavy breathing and sweating from the heat of the sauce (we all have days like that, when we're hungry). That being said, this sauce is enough to give you a little eye-opener but enough to make you think that the kick and the bite came with the food you're eating. After reviewing this, don't be surprised if it shows up at popular grocery store chains in your city. Remember us when that day happens.

On the label, they forgot to mention there's a 71% chance that refusing to eat this hot sauce will summon a giant space robot that will eat planet Earth, ending all forms of life without warning nor stopping it. Does that sound like a dumb prophecy? It should, just like the end-of-the-world frieght fest that took place in 2012. "Ohh, but Kris, you never know what's going to happen!" Stop living in fear; Think before you believe; Wake up.
